Nov.22 Liechtenstein/Kinsky: Count Ferdinand Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau died earlier today, Nov. 22, 2020, @ Vienna, Austria, cause of death was COVID-19, aged 84 years old. He was the older brother of Pss Marie Aglae of Liechtenstein, wife of Pr.Hans Adam II of Liechtenstein. He was born as Count Ferdinand Eugen Franz von Assisi Bonaventura Maria Theresia Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau on Oct. 25, 1934 @ Prague, Czech Republic, as the eldest of 7 children of Count Ferdinand Carl Bonaventura Antonius Maria Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau (1907-1969) & Countess Henriette von Ledebur-Wicheln (1910-2002). His childhood was spent at Horazd’ovice Castle, but left Czechoslovakia after the end of WWII. They settled in West Germany, where he was educated & became a German national. He studied economics + philosophy @ the University of Munich (1954-1955) & @ the University of Frankfurt, Germany, where he received a Master of Arts in Sociology in 1958. He received a post-graduate degree in International Studies @ the Institut European des Hautes Etudes Internationales @ the University of Nice, France. He was a noted political scientist & a devout Roman Catholic. He married Countess Hedwig von Ballestrem (b.1933) in April 1962 @ Straubing, Germany. They had 5 children: Ctss Maria Theresia Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau Ctss von Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg (b.1963) (married to Ct.Alexander von Trauttmansdorff-Weinsberg); Count Johannes Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau (1964-2008); Ctss Marie Elisabeth Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau Her.Ctss of Konigsegg-Aulendorf (b.1966) (married to Her.Ct.Maximilian of Konigsegg-Aulendorf); Ct.Friedrich Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau (b.1967); & Count Wenzel Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau (1969-1971). He is survived by his widow, 3 children, & 17 grandchildren. He is also survived by 4 sisters: Ctss Eleonore Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau; Pss Marie Aglae of Liechtenstein Ctss Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau; Ctss Aglae Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau Ctss von Ballestrem; & Ctss Elisabeth Kinsky von Wchinitz + Tettau Ctss of Dohna-Schlobitten.
